  Nice to see the site has had a face lift.
This must be one of the best sites around for us RZ500 owners.
Thanks and please keep up the good work.

  I am Brazilian and unfortunately we did not have the RD500LC manufactured here in Brazil, via import was very expensive due to high taxes, is a wonderful bike, I have a 88 RD350LC years and have had a RD350R years ago. Good luck to all motorcycle owners of this myth.

  Answers and comments;
Hi,
I am in sydney Australia,

I have a unrestored but good condition RZV500, imported from japan about 2 years ago, paid $9000, but I reckon its worth $15000 now. Has approx 18000kilometres on it now.

The only answer I know is that I put 5psi in the forks, check once a month.

Put new Bridgestone battlaxe tyres on, totally transformed the handling, also got the rear shock rebuilt with slight changes internally. the fork oil was done before I bought it. Wound up the rear spring pre-load a bit so there is a slight rake tilting foward, [I am about 84kilograms].

It puts out 77hp at tyhe rear wheels, engine is supposed to be de-rated to 65hp, so i don't know if it has been modified, the std pipes are still on, [51x].

I owned a Australian RZ500 in the early nineties, which looks very similar in colour scheme, it didn't handle as well, but may of gone harder, although I was 20 kilograms lighter back then! [also did the quarter mile in 12.4 seconds]. I have always wanted one again since I sold my first one, so I finally 15 years later got one, but the best one RZV500.

I will eventually restore it when I get old.

Happy Yamaha's

Paul

  Does anybody know the whereabouts of of the RZV that I imported to England from Japan in 1987, registered in the UK as E48 AGF. this was truly the best bike I've ever owned and I still wake up some mornings with disappointment after having dreamt I still own it!
